What is a radio transceiver? |
|
A transceiver is a device that has both a transmitter and a receiver, and the two functions share common circuitry. Many device may have a single function. For instance, both a homing device or a television station antenna are transmitters, whereas a car radio and a television contain only a receiver. A radio transceiver has the ability to both send and receive radio signals. A wireless antenna in a laptop computer must be a radio transceiver because it must have the ability to both send and receive packets of electronic data.
